Patriots get big win over Frisco Centennial – The Lakeview Centennial Patriots defeated Frisco Centennial High School in a 42-7 blowout Thursday, Sept. 15. Quarterback Kamron Fields got two rushing touchdowns in the first quarter on 75- and 13-yard runs and ran 15 yards for another score in the third.
Shamond Greenwood scored twice in the second on 36- and 24-yard pass receptions from Fields.
Ra’Shard Hale scored the final points on a 43-yard fumble return.
Darien Osorio was good on all point after kicks.Fields ended the game at 17-30 with 202 yards. He also collected 116 rushing yards. Trejohn Caston carried the ball 16 times for 116 yards and Greenwood caught six Fields passes for 135 yards.
Sachse HS outscores Copperas Cove – The Sachse Mustangs defeated Copperas Cove High School Friday, Sept. 16 by a final score of 48-16. Quarterback Jalen Mayden completed 17 of 23 pass attempts for 360 yards and four touchdowns. The first was on a 10-yard pass to Drue Jackson in the first quarter. Just a couple of minutes later in the first quarter, he connected with Nate Shelton on a 67-yard pass. Fields and Shelton teamed up for two more TDs in the third quarter on 75- and 48-yard passes. Shelton ended the game with five pass receptions for 231 yards.
Christian Cole scored twice on 15- and 1-yard runs. He carried the ball 16 times for 125 yards. Mayden also got a 2-yard rushing TD. Kicker Geoffrey Pace added six on extra point attempts.
Eagles defeat Keller Fossil Ridge HS
The Rowlett Eagles got a 28-23 win over Keller Fossil Ridge High School Friday, Sept. 16. Preston Weeks and Garret Hermes scored on 3- and 7-yard runs to give the Eagles a 14-7 lead at the end of the first quarter.
LaDarius Dickens caught a 65-yard pass from Weeks in the second and RHS finished the first half with a 21-10 lead. Kobe Morrow took the ball in on a 1-yard run in the fourth to give the Eagles a 28-17 lead. Fossil Ridge would score once more in the fourth, but was unable to catch the Eagles.
Weeks was 15-21 with 233 yards on the night. Dickens caught five of Weeks’ passes for 147 yards.
Morrow carried the ball 22 times for 84 yards.
Owls lose to Keller Central HS – Garland High School was defeated by Keller Central High School Friday, Sept. 16. The score was 41-7. The Owls’ TD came on a 5-yard pass from Joshua Brown to Navage Bradley in the fourth quarter. Brown completed seven passes for 69 yards. Brown also gained 71 yards on the ground.
NFHS gets OT win over Sherman HS – The Naaman Forest Rangers got a 21-15 overtime win over Sherman HS Friday, Sept. 16
Quarterback Broderick Hampton scored two TDs on 4- and 1-yard rushes in the second and third quarters. Hampton connected with Davicica McCartney on a 1-yard throw to get the OT game-winning score. The quarterback finished the night at 6-11 with 118 yards.
Hampton added a 2-point conversion in the second and Kevin Hernandez added one PAT.
Raiders lose to Frisco Independence HS- The North Garland Raiders were defeated by Frisco Independence HS Friday, Sept. 16. The score was 24-16.
The Raiders got TDs on a 7-yard run by Noah Honesty and a 45-yard pass from Honesty to Dee Carraway.
Kicker Jose Gutierrez added one extra point and a 32-yard field goal. Honesty completed 14 of 21 pass attempts for 176 yards and Dominque Pierce had 15 rushes for 93 yards. Carraway caught seven passes for 95 yards.
Colonels lose to Frisco Liberty HS – The South Garland Colonels were defeated by Frisco Liberty High School Thursday, Sept. 15. The score was 31-13.
Jaylin Sidney got both SGHS scores on 10- and 20-yard runs. Jaime Lopez added one PAT. Sidney carried the ball 22 times for 147 yards. Caleb Dabney was 11-16 with 89 passing yards.
