HS football recap: Week 11

Week 11 was the end of the regular season of HS football. The bi-district round of the playoffs will be Friday, Nov. 10. A list of teams with opponents, times and locations is below.

Lakeview Centennial Patriots 41 – Naaman Forest Rangers 34

The Lakeview Centennial Patriots (6-4, 4-4) defeated the Naaman Forest Rangers (1-9, 1-7) Thursday, Nov. 2, at Williams Stadium. LCHS quarterback, Kendrick Sanders, completed 22 of 37 pass attempts for 273 yards and five touchdowns. Julius Spencer caught nine of Sanders’ throws for 125 yards and three scores. Trenton Harris caught nine for 113 yards and a TD and Johnathan Whittle also caught a touchdown pass. The defense also scored for the Patriots on an interception return.

The Rangers’ QB, Deangelo Perales completed 12 of 25 pass attempts for 153 yards and a TD. Johnathan French-Love caught four Perales’ throws for 68 yards and a score. Marcus Davis scored three NFHS touchdowns as he rushed for 191 yards on 22 carries. The Rangers add two field goals for six points.

Garland Owls 31 – Wylie Pirates 7

The Garland Owls got a 31-7 win over the Wylie Pirates Friday, Nov. 3, at Williams Stadium. The Owl’s QB Orlando Routt ended the night at 8-20 for 138 yards and two TDs. The two TD throws were caught by Tyrone Crethers who had two catches for 73 yards. De’Adrian Hardy rushed for 51 yards and one TD. The Owls also scored on a kickoff return and a field goal.

The Pirates’ Josh Ausborne rushed for 123 yards on 24 carries and scored one TD.

Both the Owls and Pirates will move on to the bi-district round of the playoffs. (See below.)

Sachse Mustangs 59 – North Garland Raiders 19

The Mustangs (8-2, 8-0) wrapped up an undefeated district play season with this weeks’ win over the Raiders (3-7, 3-5) Friday, Nov. 3, at Homer B. Johnson Stadium. The SHS quarterback Brenden George completed 16 of 24 pass attempts for an impressive 255 yards and three touchdowns. The TD passes were caught by Fabian Ybarra and Robbie Rothrock. Kaliq Lockett had five receptions for 134 yards. Josh Ridge and Brendon Haygood each scored two rushing TDs and Bryson Williams scored one.

NGHS QB Christian Hampton threw for two TDs that were caught by Mateo Howard. Hampton also scored a rushing touchdown. Trent Hill had 17 carries for 98 yards.

The Mustangs won the district title and will move on to the bi-district round of the playoffs (See information below.)

Wylie East Raiders 49 – Rowlett Eagles 8

The Wylie East Raiders (9-1, 7-1) defeated the Rowlett Eagles (3-7, 3-5) Friday, Nov. 3, at Wylie ISD Stadium. The score was 49-8. The Raiders will move on to the bi-district round of the playoffs. (See matchup below.)

The Eagles’ QB River Kirkhuff completed a TD pass to Cordell Lee for the RHS score.

  • Sachse Mustangs play Rockwall Heath HS at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at Homer B. Johnson Stadium.
  • Wylie Pirates play Rockwall HS at 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 10, at Wilkerson-Sanders Stadium.

Class 6A Division II – Region II

  • Wylie East Raiders play Tyler Legacy HS, TBA.
  • Garland Owls play North Forney HS Friday, Nov. 10, at 7 p.m. at Mesquite Memorial Stadium.
