Week eight of the GISD high school season is in the books. The week ended in wins for the Wylie HS, Wylie East HS, South Garland Titans and Lakeview Centennial Patriots.
Wylie HS 34 – Garland HS 7
The Wylie Pirates defeated the Garland Owls Thursday, Oct. 17, by a score of 34-7. The Owls’ TD came on a rush by Ty-Ques Miles. Quarterback Carlos Mojica threw for 94 yards.
The Pirates held the Owls to 119 total yards and seven first downs.
South Garland Titans 26 – North Garland Raiders 21
The Titans got a 26-21 win over the NGHS Raiders Thursday, Oct. 17. The score was 26-21. South Garland quarterback Edson Rincon completed 8 of 11 pass attempts for 85 yards. Oscar Martinez caught one of the throws for a TD. Santiago Morena ran for 183 yards and two scores. Titans’ kicker Paulo Jimenez added two field goals.
Raiders’ QB Juju Minor rushed for 143 yards and three TDs on 23 carries.
Wylie East Raiders 49 – Naaman Forest Rangers 19
The Wylie East Raiders defeated the Naaman Forest Rangers Friday, Oct. 18 by a score of 49-19. Rangers’ quarterback DeAngelo Perales threw for 139 yards and a touchdown caught by Braylon Deal. Perales also rushed for a score. Ali Vinson scored a rushing TD as well.
Lakeview Centennial Patriots 13 – Rowlett Eagles 8
The Patriots got a 13-8 win over the Eagles Friday, Oct. 18. LCHS quarterback Kendrick Sanders passed for 121 yards and a score. Aleck Coleman caught the TD throw. Chris Ortiz added two field goals.
Eagles’ QB Samuel Loera threw for 165 yards and a TD to Jalen Thomas. The Eagle defense added a safety.
