HS soccer playoffs begin March 26

The high school soccer playoffs begin Friday, March 26, with the bi-district games. The Wylie High School Lady Pirates took first place in District 9-6A with a 13-1 district record. The Lady Mustangs from Sachse High School came in second at 12-2. The Rowlett High School Lady Eagles came in third place with a record of 12-3 and the Naaman Forest High School Lady Rangers took fourth place with a record of 8-6.

The bi-district game schedule is as follows:

  • Wylie HS – Mesquite Horn HS at 7 p.m. Friday, March 26, at Royse City HS Stadium in Royse City
  • Sachse HS – Rockwall Heath at 6 p.m., Friday, March 26, at Mesquite Memorial Stadium in Mesquite
  • Rowlett HS – Tyler Legacy HS at 6:45 p.m., Friday, March 26, at Tyler Legacy Stadium in Tyler
  • Naaman Forest HS – Rockwall HS at 6 p.m., Friday, March 26, at Naaman Forest HS Stadium in Garland

Wylie HS goalkeeper, Caleigh Monroe, allowed only two goals throughout district play. She also had 19 shutouts on the season.

High scorers from the top four teams are:

  • Paige Baumgartner – Sachse HS – 17
  • Trinity Egerton – Rowlett HS – 19
  • Mashala Williams – Naaman Forest HS – 22
Boys

The boys soccer teams’ bi-district play also begins Friday. The Sachse Mustangs took first place with a record of 10-2. The Rowlett Eagles finished in second place at 9-2. The North Garland Raiders took third place with a record of 9-2. The Garland Owls finished in fourth place at 2-4.

The boys’ bi-district games will also be Friday, March 26. The schedule is below:

  • Rowlett HS – Rockwall Heath HS, 8 p.m., Homer B. Johnson Stadium in Garland
  • North Garland HS – North Mesquite HS, 6 p.m., Homer B. Johnson Stadium in Garland
  • Garland HS – Tyler Legacy HS, 6 p.m., Williams Stadium in Garland
