In observance of Independence Day, all city of Garland offices, utility customer service and tax offices, libraries, recreation centers and senior centers will be closed Friday, July 2. City pools and Surf and Swim will be open during normal business hours. Firewheel Golf Park will remain open and operate its usual hours all weekend.
There will be no disruption to trash or recycling collection Friday, July 2. The Charles M. Hinton Jr. Regional Landfill will remain open normal hours Friday and Saturday.
City pools and Surf and Swim will operate during normal business hours Saturday, July 3. They will close at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, July 4.
Libraries and recreation centers will also operate during normal business hours Saturday, July 3, but will be closed on Independence Day, Sunday, July 4.
As a response to safety concerns related to the inability of Fire and Police vehicles and personnel to access the park when large crowds are present, the City of Garland will close Windsurf Bay Park, located on the shores of Lake Ray Hubbard, 5556 Locust Grove Road, from Friday, July 2, through Monday, July 5.
