Labor Day Parade route to be adjusted

Aug. 10, 2022

According to the Noon Exchange Club of Garland, there will be a slight change of scenery at this year’s Labor Day Parade, but the tradition will be the same. The 76th Labor Day Parade is Monday, Sept. 5, and it begins at 9 a.m.

Don’t miss the annual parade featuring bands, cheerleaders and drill teams from all seven Garland Independent School District high schools, plus youth organizations, police and fire departments, local leaders and so much more of what defines Garland as a community.

The route will begin at Glenbrook Drive and Avenue F. It will proceed north on Glenbrook Drive to Austin Street, then east on Austin Street to Fifth Street.

So please take note: If you watch the parade along Main Street, on the downtown square or at City Hall, those locations will not be along the 2022 parade route because of construction in downtown Garland.

Simply move a couple blocks north to Austin Street, where Nicholson Memorial Central Library branch will be the staging area for judges.

In addition, the Noon Exchange Club of Garland asks that you take a moment to sidestep the city’s work in progress to visit Downtown businesses while you’re in the area. They are all open for business and need your support.
