LBJ Freeway shooting investigation – Update
The male victim who was transported to an area hospital Sunday, Oct. 23 and died from his injury after being shot has been identified as Dallas resident, 30-year-old Cesar Moreno-Pompa. Garland Police Department detectives believe that this was a road rage incident between the victim and the suspect vehicle, which is possibly a dark-colored mid-size SUV. The shooting is believed to have occurred somewhere on southbound LBJ Frwy between Centerville Road and LaPrada Drive at approximately 6:20 p.m.
The Garland Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the occupant(s) of the suspect vehicle. If anyone can identify the mid-size SUV they are encouraged to contact the Garland Police Department at 972-485-4840.

Shooting Investigation – Oct. 23
Sunday, Oct. 23, at approximately 6:20 p.m., Garland Police Department officers were dispatched to a major accident on the southbound side of LBJ Freeway, between Centerville Road and LaPrada Drive. Once on the scene, officers attended to the driver of the involved vehicle who appeared to have been the victim of a shooting.
Garland Fire Department paramedics arrived on the scene and transported the driver to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Garland detectives responded to the scene and are investigating the shooting death of the driver. This is an ongoing investigation and detectives are attempting to determine what led to the incident.
