Garland has a sidewalk to nowhere.
The city has worked on it for many months.
It goes ziggidy zag beside Walnut Street,
With curves, and humps and bumps.
There is a straight sidewalk there also,
Leaving no use for the ziggidy zag walk,
But the council and mayor
Can smell the flowers walk around and talk.
Anyway the city has lots of money
And they planted lots of flowers
So we can enjoy that sidewalk to nowhere
And no matter the cost, we can call it ours.
I’ll take that back, it does go to the Texaco Station,
And the other way you can catch a train.
But if you run or walk that ziggidy zag route,
You may have to wait for the next DART train.
