Learn about the basics of amigurumi, the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small stuffed yarn creatures, by creating your very own Curiosity! A pattern is provided that is modeled after the library’s Curiosity the Cat. Registration is required. Begins Feb. 29.

Teens, adults sign up and select recipes two weeks before events, then make their selection at home and bring it to meetings. Participants can choose a recipe from selected books or use a recipe of their own that fits the theme.

Maker Lab (Adults & Teens 13+)

The Maker Lab at the Central Library Express provides access to maker machines such as 3-D Printers, a Cricut machine, a Laser Cutter, and Soldering Irons. Once an introductory course is taken, patrons may use the machines during our Open Lab hours or attend one of our Master Classes! This is just a small sample of what is to come once our Central Library is complete.

Adults and teens are welcome to use the library’s makerspace tools and resources. A variety of craft supplies will be available to create with. Makerspace classes are required to use some of the tools during the Open Lab portion.

Come learn about the Central Express’s makerspace and develop maker techniques using our machines! These skills include Laser Cutting, 3-D Design, 3-D Printing, Vinyl Cutting (Cricut), Soldering, and more. Registration is required and begins 2 weeks before the class.

This training class will set patrons up to use the 3-D Printers at the library for free! Open to adults and teens ages 13+.

Learn the basics of crochet in this two-part program you’ll learn how to get started with a slip knot and chain stitch to learn more complex skills like double crochet, increasing and decreasing and more!
