Library users have access to Consumer Reports Online

Oct. 28, 2022

Garland Library System users now have access to a helpful online resource that aids in purchasing decisions. They can research important purchases with the online version of the popular resource, Consumer Reports. Consumer Reports is the latest addition to the Garland Library Online.

Consumer Reports is a nonprofit member organization and was originally distributed in magazine format. The organization is dedicated to independent product testing, investigative journalism and consumer advocacy. Consumers have relied on their findings and ratings of products since 1936.

The new online version provides the same trusted ratings, reviews and recommendations on appliances. In addition, items for babies and children, cars, electronics, fitness equipment, food, home and garden tools and more are included.

Library cardholders can access the resource through the public computers at any Garland library location. They can also access it remotely on any Internet-connected device. All that is required is a valid Garland library card and PIN.

To access Consumer Reports, visit www.Library.GarlandTX.gov. Click on Online Resources, then the Do It Yourself Resources subject area and select Consumer Reports. Enter a Garland library card number and PIN to get started.
