Just after 4:15 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 25, the Garland Police Department responded to a stabbing in the 1100 block of Sam Houston Drive. Upon arrival, officers observed an injured male in the driveway of the residence.
Garland Fire Department paramedics arrived and transported the male, identified as 27-year-old Shalom Thang, to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
Homicide investigators responded to the scene and began investigating Thang’s death as a murder.
Detectives learned that Thang was stabbed by another male, 26-year-old Ram Hel, after a disturbance at the location.
Hel was arrested and charged with murder. He is currently in the Garland Detention Center. Bond has not been set.
The investigation remains active.
