Sunday, May 5, at approximately 12:45 a.m., the Garland Police Department responded to the report of a gunshot wound in a parking lot in the 4600 block of West Walnut Street. Upon arriving on scene GPD officers located a male subject who was suffering from a gunshot wound.
Detectives believe there was a disturbance inside a restaurant at the location and several subjects were escorted into the parking lot by two security guards.
A short time after being escorted out of the restaurant a disturbance occurred in the parking lot. It is believed that gunshots were exchanged between one male and two security guards. The male subject was shot and transported to a local hospital by Garland paramedics.
The male who was shot is in critical condition. No charges have been filed at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
