Congratulations to all the Garland Neighborhoods and Neighborhood leaders who were award winners and finalists at the Neighborhoods, USA annual conference held in May. Neighborhoods from across America submitted applications, and we are proud of the following Garland neighborhoods and leaders for being recognized on a national level!
Neighborhood of the Year – second place – Camelot Neighborhood Association
Camelot received second place for their “Drive Through Food-Drive & Ice Cream Social” last summer where they collected non-perishable food and cash for Good Samaritans of Garland, a local nonprofit. This COVID-friendy event caught the eyes of the Neighborhoods, USA Awards judges.
Neighborhood Newsletter Award – third place – Orchard Hills Neighborhood Association (OHNA)
Orchard Hills’ Quarterly newsletter received third place for its combination of human interest stories, history and city news. Their collective effort in contributing articles has given the newsletter a comprehensive and welcoming feel.
