A group of people on Larkin Lane in Garland have joined forces to show their love, support and appreciation for the fallen Dallas officers, the Garland Police Department and Unity in their Community by placing blue ribbons around the trees in their front yards.
“It’s a beautiful thing,” said organizer Kelly Joy Freeman. “We are multicultural, filled with families, singles, widows and veterans and we all have the same goal which is “To Love Thy Neighbor.”
Freeman said that the blue ribbons are only the beginning. Their new group, “Ladies of Larkin Lane,” will work to organize and promote neighborhood activities and gatherings, encourage information sharing and help and support each other.
