A Rowlett resident who has experienced the pressure that caring for elderly family members can cause, hopes to alleviate that for local residents.
Tammy Dana-Bashian is the newest franchise owner of Seniors Helping Seniors® in-home care services, which matches seniors who need assistance with everyday tasks with active seniors seeking meaningful employment. Her franchise territory will provide services to those living in eastern Dallas County and Rockwall County, including the cities of Rowlett, Garland, Mesquite, Rockwall, Sachse, Royse City, Heath, Fate and Sunnyvale.
“Most seniors prefer to age in their home and my family is no different. When I discovered Seniors Helping Seniors, I knew I needed to be a part of this organization,” Dana-Bashian said. “I believe Seniors Helping Seniors provides an important in-home alternative to traditional methods of care for our senior population.”
Seniors Helping Seniors® in-home care service, headquartered in Wyomissing, Pa., has opened more than 250 franchises in 42 states since 1998 by following a unique, peer-to-peer business model that provides seniors with “a way to give and receive®” by hiring seniors to provide companionship and home care services to other seniors.
“The demand for this service is rapidly growing as our population continues to age,” Seniors Helping Seniors® in-home care co-founder Kiran Yocom said. “Tammy truly understands the needs of this population, and she is the kind of caring and compassionate person we welcome in the Seniors Helping Seniors® organization.”
Dana-Bashian, who has lived in the Dallas area for 35 years, has first-hand experience caring for her own family members as they age, including her grandmother, father- in-law and both of her parents.
She holds a special place in her heart for the senior population and believes Seniors Helping Seniors® in-home care services will provide area seniors with meaningful assistance, along with the respect and honor they deserve for their contributions to the community.
“Seniors Helping Seniors services are extremely important for this community as seniors in need of assistance are more likely to accept help from other seniors that can relate to them and treat them with dignity and respect. The senior helpers benefit by staying active and providing a meaningful service while earning a supplemental income. It is a win-win scenario,” says Dana-Bashian.
“Like many people I have felt the pressure of supporting aging parents while raising growing children,” Dana-Bashian said.. “Seniors Helping Seniors provides family members of seniors needing support a reliable and trustworthy alternative when their own family and work situation does not give them the ability to provide the assistance needed by their loved ones.”
Seniors Helping Seniors® franchises strive to set reasonable fees for clients while also providing competitive wages to employees within each geographic market. Services provided may include, but are not limited to, companionship, social interaction, light housekeeping, meal preparation, transportation, shopping and errands, laundry, light yard work, minor home maintenance and repairs, and pet care.
If another type of service is needed, every attempt will be made to fulfill the request. For information about services or employment call 469-264-5526 or email tammy@seniorcarerowlett.com
