North Garland High School held a special ceremony, recognizing veterans with performances from the orchestra, drill team and band. Sachse High School held a hands-on recruiting event, giving students a chance to experience a touch of boot camp. And Padgett Auxiliary Services Center staff recognized veterans who are now employees.
Students, staff, parents and community members also expressed words of gratitude online.
“Spring Creek wants to honor all veterans that are part of our Scorpion family, ” Spring Creek Elementary School posted. “Thank you for your service.” The GISD Security Department added, “To our men and women in uniform, past, present, and future, God bless you and thank you.”
