Noon Exchange Club enjoys Fifth Wednesday; Labor Day Parade coming up

Jul. 4, 2022

Members and friends of the Noon Exchange Club of Garland enjoyed an evening of good food, fun and fellowship Wednesday, June 29.  The “Fifth Wednesday” meeting gives members who are unable to attend the weekly meetings a chance to catch up with what’s going on. The group had a great time playing Trivial Pursuit and Left-Right-Center.

The activities of the Noon Exchange Club of Garland include:

noon

  • Promoting pride in our country, appreciation for the freedoms granted to American citizens and gratitude for the men and women who serve and have served in the armed forces.
  • Volunteering countless hours serving the community through programs of service.
  • Supporting local youth through scholarships, mentoring sponsorships and guidance. Exchange is making a difference in our future generation.
  • Supporting activities that benefit youth, promote pride in our country and honor military and public service providers.
  • Providing a variety of public awareness materials and community service projects designed to help inform and increase awareness of child abuse and how it can be prevented.

The Noon Exchange Club of Garland also presents the annual Labor Day Parade.

The parade is a don’t miss event for Garland residents. It features high school bands, cheerleaders and drill teams, as well as younger sports teams and cheer squads. The crowd is also entertained by Shriners’ clowns on tiny scooters. City officials, as the Garland Fire and Police departments, help lead the parade and the group of Boys Scouts carrying flags at the beginning of the parade is a sight to behold!

This year’s event is the 76th annual parade and will be held Monday, Sept. 5.

Visit www.noonexchangeclubofgarland.org for information on how to participate in the parade. Applications, along with this year’s parade route, are available on the website.

Keep in mind that downtown Garland construction will affect the route.
