Noon Exchange Club spreads good cheer during difficult time

Apr. 30, 2020

Noon Exchange Club of Garland has been doing its part to help keep spirits up during this difficult time. The COVID-19 pandemic has taken its toll on small businesses and first responders, so Saturday, April 18, Noon Exchange Club members Jerry DeFeo, Javier Solis and B.J. Williams came to the aid of a popular local restaurant and some of this city’s dedicated first responders.

They purchased 12 pizzas from Labella’s Italian Grill and delivered them to three South Garland fire stations. The club members chose Labella’s for a couple of reasons. The most important is that their food is delicious! In addition, the restaurant does a great job hosting the club’s business meetings on the first Wednesday of each month. The pizzas were delivered to Garland Fire Stations No. 4, 5 and 9.

Exchange Club members were out spreading cheer again Tuesday, April 28 when they organized and participated in a parade for the folks at Brookdale Senior Living. The club conducts its weekly meetings on the second, third and fourth Wednesday of each month at Brookdale and wanted to let the residents and staff know that they are missed.

The group of 125 cars met at a nearby elementary school for the drive to Brookdale. Families and friends of residents, along with Noon Exchange Club of Garland members, participated in the parade.
