Gretchen Celeste Rogers (Neff) passed away in Richardson, Texas, January 25, 2020, at the age of 85. She was the widow of Marvin Hayes Rogers.
Born in Rowden, Texas, March 10, 1934, she was the daughter of T.J. and Anita Neff. She graduated from Burleson High School in 1952 and attended Texas Christian University where she studied theater arts. She worked for years at Metropolitan Financial in accounting. Later in life, she spent countless hours volunteering at Garland Civic Theatre in Garland, Texas as their bookkeeper and expert seamstress.
She enjoyed singing in the choir at Urban Park Baptist & Park City Baptist Church and acting in plays in community theaters all over the Metroplex. She will be remembered for her giving heart, smart wit, and love for her sons.
She is survived by her children Frank Marion Rogers (Judy), Joe Earl Rogers, Raymond Marvin Rogers (Elizabeth), and Bobby Wayne Rogers (Jessica), her grandchildren Jacey Rogers, Gentry Rogers (Zuleyma), Gene Rogers, Jake Rogers (Bradie), Cody Neff Rogers, Travis Rogers, and Whitney Rogers Hite (Josh), and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband and parents, her brothers, Wayne Neff and Bobby Neff and sister, Betty Miller Neff, and her granddaughter Samantha Alyce Rogers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Salvation Army in her name.
