Obituary: Lt. Christopher John Carker

Christopher John Carker, of Wylie, Texas, entered Heaven’s gates Saturday, December 3, 2022, at the age 46. He was born on May 29, 1976 in Springfield, Missouri, the son of Richard and Deborah Carker.

He graduated from Wylie High School in 1994 and received his Masters Degree in Psychology from the University of Texas Dallas. Chris enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on October 10, 1995 and achieved the rank of Corporal. He was honorably discharged on October 9, 1999.

On June 24, 2004, Chris married the love of his life, Kasey Marie (Henderson) Carker. They were married for 18 years.

Chris began working for the Garland Police Department on October 9, 2006, and was a Lieutenant in the Traffic Unit. Prior to his time with Garland Police Department, Chris served in the Wylie Police Department for five years. He was a professor of Psychology at the college level.

He is survived by his parents Richard and Deborah Carker, of Wylie, Texas; wife Kasey Carker, of Wylie, Texas and his children: Zander Carker and Raley Carker, of Wylie, Texas and Amiee Carker of Dallas, Texas; sister Christina Carker, of Wylie, Texas, brother Kevin Carker, of Durant, Oklahoma and his children Savanna, Madalyn, and Chloe; in-laws Larry and Martha Henderson, of Wylie, Texas; brother-in-law Anthony Henderson and wife Melody Henderson, of Anna, Texas and their children Devyn, Blake and Tanner.

Visitation will be at The Cross Church, Wylie, Texas on Friday, December 9, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
