Obituary: Patricia Jeanette Sellers

Jun. 30, 2018

Patricia Jeanette was born to Giles Raymond and Rose Ellen Folmar December 10, 1934.  She went home to be with the Lord June 24, 2018.  “Pat” was born in Yantis, Texas.  Her grandparents were Gus and Mama Folmar of Sulphur Springs, Texas and John and Pearl Buckholt of Yantis, Texas.  Parents and grandparents preceded Pat in death by many years.

The Folmars moved to Seminole, Texas around 1946 where Raymond worked for Mobil Oil as a driller on a standard drilling rig.  Ellen worked at a local dry goods store.  Pat was head majorette in the Indian High School band.  In 1946, Bob McReynolds moved his family to Seminole where he was a deputy sheriff and later elected sheriff.  Charlie, the youngest son delivered papers on his pony to the Folmar house.

Charlie was at once captivated by Pat’s beauty and they dated through high school and eloped to Lovington, New Mexico in 1951 – Pat at age 16 and Charlie at age 17.  Within a year, their first son was born and they named him after both grandfathers, Robert Raymond.  Through the years three other children were born, C. T. Jr in Seminole, Rebekkah Ann in Austin and John Ed in the oil field town of Odessa.

Charlie and Pat were divorced in 1978 while living in Forney, Texas. Pat then moved to Seminole where she worked at the Raymond Motor Inn.   She married a cowboy named Joe Sellers who lived outside Seagraves, Texas.  Mr. Sellers died and Pat moved to Garland where she lived with her son, Robert, who preceded her in death in 2016. Pat’s other three children live in the Dallas Metroplex.

She is survived by her two sons and daughter, nine grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held August 4. Call family for details.
