Obituary: Samuel Earl Mayabb, Jr.

Samuel Earl Mayabb, Jr. passed away December 22, 2022. He was born July 8, 1949 to Samuel Earl Mayabb, Sr. and Lilllie Mayabb.

Sam grew up in Garland, Texas, and graduated from Garland High School where he played on the Garland Owls’ football team. He liked riding and working on motorcycles and held various positions at area motorcycle dealerships. He later worked for Garland Power & Light as an equipment operator until moving to Cooper, Texas, where he and his wife, Cathy Clark Mayabb lived a quiet life in the country. It was the perfect life for Sam. He loved animals and even named his chickens. He could sometimes be seen driving his golf cart with one of the chickens in the seat beside him.

Sam loved spending time with his family and friends. He also loved being a member of Charleston United Methodist Church in Cooper. He played guitar and enjoyed getting together with friends to play. Sam had many friends and made new ones everywhere he went. Everyone loved spending time with him.

He was preceded in death by his wife Cathy Mayabb; his parents Samuel and Lilllie Mayabb; and brother Hubert Echols.

He is survived by daughter Samantha Rozell and husband Matthew; grandchildren Garrett Warner and wife Marina, Hannah Rozell and David Rozell; along with many loving friends.
