Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom recently opened their Garland location at 1380 West Centerville Road. The restaurant hosted a soft opening the weekend before the grand opening date. Not only did the restaurant showcase some of its entrees, the soft opening was also used to train staff and raise funds for Guns & Hoses.
More than 1,000 guests were served and more than $5,000 was raised during the soft opening.
“We are excited to bring our hand-crafted specialty pizzas, distinctive taproom fare and over 90 craft beers to the city of Garland,” said Dominique Romero, field marketing manager.
Old Chicago believes in community involvement. The restaurant has several methods through which they partner with organizations for fundraising events
“Whether it’s hosting a fundraiser, participating in a community event, or tapping the newest beer from a local brewery, we find all of those things important and a part of our brand, and a way for Old Chicago to contribute to the community,” Manager Genevieve Hardin said.
The restaurant has four locations in the DFW area: Fort Worth-Presidio, Mockingbird, Cedar Hill and Garland and will be opening stores in Waco and Tyler in September.
Another Garland business, Lakewood Brewing, has already partnered with Old Chicago to have two of their craft beers featured on the menu.
“As the Craft Beer Authority, we will share our passion for discovering the best in local and regional brews and will always be trying to ensure we are bringing in what’s new! We currently have 22 Texas draught beers on tap,” Hardin said. “Our bar manager, along with our own Regional Beer Specialist and Manager of Beer Operations (who is a Certified Cicerone!) will work closely with local breweries to ensure we are always tapping something local and new.”
Old Chicago is already becoming a meeting place where friends and families get together to relax and visit, share special celebrations and watch sporting events.
