One man injured, one dies from gunshot

Oct. 26, at approximately noon, the Garland Police Department responded to the report of a gunshot wound at an apartment community in the 600 block of Broadway Commons. Upon arriving, officers located two males suffering from gunshot wounds inside the residence. One male, the apartment resident, was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and a second male was pronounced deceased at the scene.

 

Officers learned that two male subjects arrived at the residence and were allowed entry by the male resident. Once inside, a disturbance occurred for unknown reasons, which led to guns being produced and shots fired. The second subject who arrived at the apartment fled the scene before officers arrived.

 

The investigation is ongoing, but detectives believe all parties are acquainted.

Update

 

GPD has identified 20-year-old Kevon Knnard Livingston as the shooting suspect who fled the scene. A warrant has been issued for Livingston’s arrest for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. He is considered armed and dangerous.

 

The male who was pronounced deceased at the scene has been identified as 18-year-old Ja Ray Malik Hollywood.

 

A reward of up to $5,000 has been offered for any information leading to an arrest.
