This week Garland HS, Sachse HS and Lakeview Centennial HS all got wins. The Rowlett Eagles and Wylie Pirates did not have games.
Owls squeak by Rangers for 14-7 win

There was a close game at Williams Stadium Thursday, Oct. 15, when the Garland Owls defeated the Naaman Forest Rangers. Quarterback Cergio Perez completed two huge passes with a minute left in the game. He first threw to Ellis Rogers to get the Owls to the 7-yard-line. Then with seven seconds left, he completed a pass to Jordan Hudson to win the game.
Perez ended the night at 13-25 for 124 yards. Damerian Wigenton scored the Owls’ other TD. Jayshon Powers carried the ball nine times for 78 yards.
The Rangers’ score came on a pass from Austin Valdez to Tairence Landrum. Kingsley Bennett rushed for 70 yards on the game for the Naaman Forest Rangers.

Mustangs defeat Raiders
The Sachse Mustangs got a 41-7 win over the North Garland Raiders Friday, Oct. 16, at Williams Stadium. Quarterback Alex Orji rushed for three of the touchdowns and connected on a throw to Jaden Hunter for another. Kori Jones scored a rushing touchdown. Sophomore James Adams on special teams came through with a score for the Mustangs on an 87-yard kickoff return.
The Sachse offense put together 403 total yards. The defense held the Raiders to -6 yards rushing. The coaches’ picks for MVPs were: offense – Ricardo Ochoa; defense – Gavin Portillo; and special teams – James Adams
The NGHS score came on a pass from quarterback Nathan Pena to Isaiah DeLeon. Pena threw for 127 yards on the night.

Patriots get 49-19 win over Colonels
The Lakeview Centennial Patriots defeated the Colonels Friday, Oct. 16, at Homer B. Johnson Stadium.
Quarterback Michael Hierro hit Cambryn Jones for a TD on a 74-yard completion. Zechariah Dunston rushed for 200 yards and scored four touchdowns for the Patriots. Jack Dustin scored two rushing touchdowns.
Hierro ended the night at 8-11 for 162 yards.
SGHS QB Jalil Brown threw for 229 yards and also rushed for a score. Jaylien Chambers scored on a running play and also added a TD on a pass from Brown.
