Patsy Jean Warford Arterburn

Patsy Jean Warford Arterburn passed Saturday, April 14, 2018.  She was born in Peoria, AZ, in 1937, to parents, Isaac and Mary Venita Warford.  Patsy married her beloved husband, Morris E. Arterburn, June 4, 1955, in Wickenburg, AZ.  Patsy and Morris moved to Bonham, TX, where they lived in their first home and had their first two boys, Tony and David.  While living in Bonham, Patsy was a licensed beautician and opened her own salon next door to her home.  Patsy and Morris then moved to Greenville and had their daughters, Holly and Pennie, where she raised all her children full time.  In the late 60’s to early 70’s, Patsy and family moved to Garland, TX, and attended school, receiving her LVN license and worked at various hospitals and in home care until she retired to take care of her grandchildren, particularly Tony, Jr., at the request of her eldest son, in 1983.

 

Patsy was dedicated to her family and took part in raising all of her grandchildren.  Cinnamon Rolls in the morning and Braum’s ice cream in the evening was how she liked to treat her grandchildren.  Patsy left specific annotations of the of the New Testament along with her teachings of the Lord’s Prayer to her grandchildren, which was passed down by the legacy of men on her father’s side.  Her father, grandfather, great grandfather and even her great-great grandfather were all Baptist ministers as well as her brother, Joey.

 

Pasty was a faithful member of Lake Pointe Church of Rockwall for over 30 years.  She attended Bible Study Fellowship in Garland where she taught as a leader.  Patsy donated to many Christian and Jewish ministries and charities and had a love for Israel.  She encouraged her daughters-in-law to attend Bible Study Fellowship.  Patsy read her Bible daily.  She loved shopping on QVC, enjoyed sewing and collecting blue colored glass.  Patsy had a green thumb in gardening and loved all flowers and plants.

 

Patsy is survived by her sons: Tony Arterburn and wife Laurie and David Arterburn and wife Darlean; daughters: Holly Arterburn Bowhay and husband Glenn and Pennie Arterburn Hardage and husband Chad; brother: Donald “Joey” Warford and wife Dannie; sister: Lucille Hall; grandchildren: Tony Arterburn Jr., Andrew Arterburn, Taylor Arterburn Colbert, Trevor Arterburn, Aaron Arterburn, Austin Arterburn, Travis Arterburn, Spenser Bowhay, Matthew Bowhay, Clark Hardage, Jacob Alexander and Abbie Alexander: and 11 great grandchildren; along with several nieces, nephews and friends.  She is preceded in death by her beloved husband: Morris E. Arterburn; parents: Isaac and Mary; sisters: Alene Good, Mary Howard and Moselle Warford; brothers: Jay Warford and Lester Warford; and grandsons: Christopher Bowhay, William Alexander and Samual Arterburn.

 

Pallbearers will be: Tony Arterburn Jr., Andrew Arterburn, Trevor Arterburn, Aaron Arterburn, Spenser Bowhay, Matt Bowhay, Austin Arterburn, Travis Arterburn, Jake Alexander and Nate Colbert.

 

Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday April 18, 2018, at Lake Pointe Church – Chapel. 701 I-30, Rockwall, 75087.  A gathering will he held the night prior from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at The Gathering Place at Rest Haven Funeral Home – Rockwall Location.  Graveside service will begin at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, after the service at MaComb Cemetery in Grayson County outside of Whitesboro, Texas.
