Thursday, Aug. 1, shortly after 10 p.m., the Garland Police and Fire departments responded to an accident on LBJ Freeway near Garland Road. The accident involved a pedestrian and when officers arrived, they observed a female who had been struck by a vehicle.
GPD Investigators believe the female had been attempting to cross the highway before being hit by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle involved, a Toyota Corolla, stopped and is cooperating with the investigation.
The female was pronounced deceased at the scene. The investigation is ongoing, and no charges are being filed at this time.
