GPD releases suspect sketch, Aggravated Sexual Assault of Child

Garland Police Department detectives are investigating the Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child that occurred Wednesday, July 18. The female victim is between the ages of 13 and 16. The assault occurred at approximately 10:30 a.m. in the 1300 block of Northwest Highway behind a row of businesses.

 

The female complainant told GPD officers that she was walking behind the businesses when she observed a black four-door passenger car drive in her direction.  The vehicle then backed into a parking space next to the dumpster bay.  As the complainant walked past the dumpster bay the suspect threatened her with a gun and she was sexually assaulted.

 

Detectives have recovered video that shows the car driving behind the businesses and also shows the build of the suspect. They believe the vehicle is a black 2013 Hyundai Elantra.

 

The male suspect is described as a black male who is approximately 5’4” to 5’6” in height. He has a skinny build, a short haircut and a full stubble beard. He was wearing a faded black t-shirt along with black pants and black boots.

A reward of up to $5,000 has been offered by Garland Crime Stoppers for information leading to an arrest or grand jury indictment.
