UPDATE: As of 9:56 a.m., Feb. 15, missing person Melania Nyajana has been located and is safe.
The Garland Police Department is searching for a missing person, 81-year-old Melania Nyajana.
She was last heard from Sunday, Feb. 14, between 10:30 a.m. and noon in the 260 block of South Barnes Drive. She left her apartment on foot and does not drive.
Nyajana is described as an African American female, 5 feet tall, 120 pounds, medium build, has very short grey/black hair and brown eyes. She was wearing traditional style African clothing and a head wrap.
Nyajana does not speak English and takes medication.
