Garland ISD has announced the following information/dates for enrollment and choice of school for the 2019-2020 school year.
Enrollment Center Appointment Day – 8:15 a.m.-noon Tuesday, March 19 at the Curtis Culwell Center – Parents of children enrolling in Pre-K or kindergarten for the 2019-20 school year who speak a language other than English can get an appointment for language tests and forms for enrollment by attending this event. Please note: If your child is currently enrolled in school, you do not need to come to Appointment Day.
Why do I need an appointment? If your child’s home language is a language other than English, the enrollment process includes language testing, which can take up to three hours depending on the age and ability level of the student. We know your time is valuable which is which is why we ask you to schedule your Enrollment Center appointment in advance.
PreK-Kindergarten Choice of School – starts March 20 – Families can make selections for their top three campus selections for those entering prekindergarten and kindergarten during Choice of School period, which starts March 20.
Kindergarten Magnet Program Application – March 20-30 in Skyward Family Access – Families of students entering kindergarten in 2019-20 can apply for magnet programs in Skyward Family Access during the 10-day window, which starts March 20.
Kindergarten magnet program information meeting – 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 25 at Naaman Forest High School. All families of students entering kindergarten in 2019-20 are invited to learn about our elementary magnet programs and the application process.
#ChooseGarlandISD Day – 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, March 30 at the Gilbreath-Reed Career and Technical Center. A one-stop shop for families to enroll their students one-on-one, receive information about district services and participate in fun activities.
