Recycling for extra cash

Dec. 28, 2022

You’re getting ready to take down your Christmas tree and put away your lights, and as much as you love the gifts you’ve gotten, you still feel the sting of the holiday season when you look at your bank account. How about putting some cash back in your wallet by getting rid of things that are just taking up space? From metal bed frames, to spare auto parts, to old extension cords and Christmas lights, to metal roofing and of course, aluminum cans, Geomet Recycling in Garland will take your recyclable metals and turn them into cash that you can use for whatever you would like.

According to Geomet‘s Commercial Director Alicia McKinney, “Most people will be surprised at how much recyclable metal they find in their homes, garages and sheds. That’s why we’ve just launched a program to make it easy for ‘regular people’ — and by ‘regular,’ I mean folks who are not contractors or in the construction business — to let us buy their recyclable metal items.”

All you have to do is pull up to Geomet’s facility at 300 South International Road and they’ll tell you what can be recycled, then give you the fair market price. You’ll need one form of ID to receive a “cash-card,” which just acts as a membership card.

“Your first payment will come in the form of a check,” McKinney added, “and after that, all other payments for metals that Geomet buys will be paid to you directly in cash.”

Geomet Recycling is located at 300 South International Road in Garland. Hours of operation are Monday – Friday, from 8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.
