Nonprofit Remington College has kicked off its partnership with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society by raising more than $4,000 for MS in their first fundraiser on World MS Day. More activities are planned in the coming months to raise awareness in the communities that Remington College serves.
Along with accepting donations on World MS Day, Remington College encouraged students and faculty to wear orange, the color of MS awareness. It also hosted a door decorating contest and created activities to share facts about the disease and how it affects people.
Over the next year, Remington College will continue to make strides in raising awareness for multiple sclerosis by encouraging employees to participate in the National MS Society’s annual Walk MS and Bike MS events.
“We’re so thankful for the generosity our faculty and students have shown at each and every one of our campuses,” said Heather McIver, Remington College’s Vice President of Institutional Innovation. “Our fundraiser for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society has allowed our students and faculty to join forces for a good cause. It’s just the beginning of what we have planned for the future.”
As a nonprofit, Remington College is committed to giving back to the communities it’s located in. Throughout the year, its campuses around the nation provide free haircuts for kids, free teeth cleanings, and blood drives. The partnership with the National MS Society is yet another way Remington College is proving its commitment to the greater good.
