Robbery suspects arrested

May. 27, 2020

Wednesday, May 27, just before 4:30 p.m., Garland police officers responded to an Aggravated Robbery of a cell phone store, located in the 6200 block of Broadway Blvd.  The caller said men came into the store, produced a handgun, took property and fled the location in what was described as a Nissan passenger car.

The vehicle was located inside Rowlett by Rowlett police officers.  The officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop but the driver of the vehicle refused to stop leading them in pursuit. Texas DPS Troopers successfully disabled the vehicle’s tires. The DPS helicopter assisted in tracking the vehicle until it came to a stop at Gurley Avenue and Martinique Avenue inside Dallas.

When the vehicle came to a stop one suspect exited and fled on foot but was later apprehended after a brief foot chase. Two suspects remained inside the vehicle and were taken into custody. There was property located inside the vehicle that is believed to have been stolen from the cell phone store. A handgun was also recovered.

Edward Lewis, 21, Frankie Brown, 18 and Javen Thomas, 20, were arrested for Aggravated Robbery and transported to the Garland Detention Center.  Brown also had an active warrant for Aggravated Robbery out of Red Oak Police Department with a $50,000 bond.

This is an ongoing investigation.
