The South Garland Colonels got a 60-53 victory over Waco Midway High School Friday, Feb. 22 at Waxahachie High School. The win was for the area 
playoff title.
The Colonels had the lead throughout the game, but Waco Midway HS hit a 3-pointer to tie the game at the buzzer to push it into overtime. The Colonels pulled out the victory in the overtime period. Tyrese Maxey scored 27 points in the game, with eight of them coming in the overtime period. Chris Harris, Jr. scored 18.
South Garland (29-6) will play Dallas Jesuit High School (29-5) Tuesday, Feb. 26 at Allen High School at 7:30 p.m. This game will be the regional round of the playoffs.
Allen High School is located at 300 Rivercrest Boulevard in Allen.
