Shooting victim dies; Crimestoppers offers reward

Saturday, June 1, at approximately 4:45 a.m., the Garland Police Department responded to the report of a man shot in a parking lot of a business located in the 2100 block of Northwest Highway. The male was found shot inside a Lexus and transported to a hospital in critical condition.

 

Detectives were made aware the shooting victim, 42-year-old Kevin Hollis Lyons of Dallas, passed away overnight and are now investigating his death as a murder.

 

It is believed there were multiple suspects involved that fled the scene traveling westbound on LBJ Freeway in a light in color, possibly Toyota truck. Video has been recovered showing the vehicle enter onto LBJ Freeway at a high rate of speed immediately after the shooting occurred.

 

This is an ongoing investigation and detectives are asking for the public’s help.  Anyone with any information is asked to call the Garland Police Department at 972-485-4840.
