SHS soccer going to state

Congratulations to the Sachse HS boys’ soccer team as they get ready to go to the state tournament in Georgetown April 14 and 15. This is the first time in Garland ISD history that a soccer team has gone to the state tournament.

The Mustangs steadily made their way through the first five games of the playoffs leading up to the state championship.soccer

  • March 24: Bi-District – Sachse Mustangs 4 – Royse City HS 0
  • March 28: Area – Sachse Mustangs 1 – Mansfield HS 0
  • March 31: Regional Quarterfinals – Sachse Mustangs 1 – Duncanville 0. Tanner Tea scored the SHS goal.
  • April 7: Regional Semifinals – Sachse Mustangs 1 – Cypress Woods HS 0. Axel Gomez scored the Mustangs’ goal.
  • April 8: Regional Final – Sachse Mustangs 2 – The Woodlands 1. Cooper Tea and Roberto Diaz scored goals for the Mustangs.

The impressive, solid Mustangs’ defense did not give up a goal through the first four playoff games.

The Mustangs will meet Katy Seven Lakes HS Friday, April 14 at 5 p.m. at Birkelbach Field in Georgetown.
