The high school best of the best softball and baseball teams are now competing in the University Interscholastic League playoffs and Garland ISD has three teams remaining in the competition. The Rowlett High School Lady Eagles softball team, the Rowlett High School Eagles baseball team and the Naaman Forest High School Rangers baseball team are still in the playoffs.
The Lady Eagles defeated Killeen-Ellison High School for the bi-district title then got a big win over Berkner High School that ended in a score of 21-5 in the area round.
This week, they will play Belton High School in a best of three competition for the quarterfinals title. Game 1 will be played at Glen Rose High School at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 11. Game 2 will also be at Glen Rose HS at 12 p.m. Saturday, May 14. If a third game is necessary, it will be played 30 minutes after game 2.
The Rangers got a win over Coppell High School for the bi-district title. They will meet Mesquite High School in the area round of playoffs this week. Game 1 is at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 12 at NFHS. Game 2 will be Friday, May 13 at 7 p.m. at Tillery Field. If necessary, game 3 will be played at 12 p.m. Saturday, May 14, at NFHS.
The Eagles defeated Waco-Midway High School in the bi-district contest and will play Highland Park High School in the area round. Game 1 is at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, May 12 at Rowlett High School. Game 2 is at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 13, at Highland Park HS and if necessary, game 3 is Saturday, May 14 at 12 p.m. at Highland Park.
The Lakeview Centennial High School Patriots baseball team competed in the bi-district round of the playoffs and were defeated by Belton High School.
