Students receive thousands for passing AP tests

Dec. 15, 2018

In Garland ISD, it pays to get good grades. For the fourth consecutive year, Garland ISD gifted thousands to hundreds of students as part of its National Math & Science Initiative (NMSI) program—which awards students $100 per passing AP score.

This year, students across the district’s seven high schools received more than $150,000 collectively in addition to savings in college tuition. Campuses celebrated honorees with pep rallies, complete with giant checks, special cheers and school spirit throughout October and November.
