Suspected copper thieves arrested

SandersStevenRaycopyDurenCurtisMarioncopyShortly after 1:00 a.m., August 10, the Garland Police Department arrested three men for copper theft in the 3600 block of West Miller Road.  Garland police have been investigating recent copper thefts in the industrial area where a box style truck was possibly being used.

While patrolling the area, officers observed and stopped a U-Haul truck leaving the same area.  Information was obtained that a theft was currently in progress. Garland police with the Department of Public Safety helicopter observed two men on the rooftop of a building.  The two men, along with the driver of the U-Haul, were arrested and charged with Theft  of Copper less than $20,000, a third degree felony.

The three men from Dallas are identified as Roderick Crockett, Curtis Duren, and Steven Sanders.  Bond has not been set.
