The Texas Education Agency (TEA) released its first A-F accountability ratings since 2019 Monday, Aug. 15. COVID-19 was the reason for the pause in ratings. According to the report, scores showed “promising signs of progress” in the state’s efforts to catch students up academically. TEA rated 1,195 districts and 8,451 campuses. Of those, 25% of districts and 33% of campuses improved their grade from 2019.
Garland Independent School District received a rating of B or 87 out of 100.
Scores for each campus:
The TEA report explained “Not rated” as follows:
“This year, to align with Senate Bill 1365, districts and campuses received an A, B or C rating or were assigned a label of Not Rated: Senate Bill 1365, both overall and in each domain. This Not Rated: Senate Bill 1365 label was applied when the domain or overall scaled score for a district or campus was less than 70. 42 districts and 564 campuses received this label.”
