Update:
Garland investigators have identified the driver of the vehicle to be Angel Blancas who died at the hospital. The investigation has also revealed that speed and alcohol may have been factors in the cause of the crash.

The Garland Police Department responded to a single car accident Aug. 23 shortly before 5:30 a.m. in the 3300 block of West Walnut St. The vehicle was traveling eastbound when it lost control and struck a utility pole. Officers arrived and found three male occupants, all teenagers, to have been injured during the crash.
15-year-old Angel Blancas was transported to Plano Medical Center where he later died from his injuries. The other two males were transported to Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, one with serious injuries and the other in stable condition.
The crash is under investigation.
