Romeisha Brown, one of the suspects in the kidnapping, turned herself in at the Garland Detention Center last night, Oct. 20, at around 8 p.m. Investigators were able to identify the third suspect involved in the kidnapping as 41-year-old Kemberly Suzanne Williams. Williams was located this morning Oct. 21, just after 12:30 a.m., at a motel in the 3600 block of Leon Road.
Both individuals are in the Garland Detention Center on charges of Kidnapping. No bond has been set.
The investigation remains active.
Garland Investigators are asking for the public’s assistance in locating two suspects who kidnapped a 20-month-old infant boy Sunday, Oct. 17. Sunday, just before 1 a.m., the Garland Police Department responded to the report of a kidnapping at a motel in the 1800 block of Northwest Highway.
Officers learned that the mother and infant were in a motel room when the mother heard a knock at the door. Investigators believe the mother opened the door thinking it was a friend. Three women rushed inside the room, overpowered the mother and took her child.
Officers retrieved surveillance video that showed the three women arriving at the motel in a black SUV. The video shows the SUV parking in the back parking lot of the motel and the three women exiting. The women are seen waiting at the back door until it is opened from inside. Moments later, the women are seen exiting the same door carrying the infant and running to the SUV. The mother chased after them. She was able to remove the front license plate from the kidnappers’ vehicle before they were able to flee the parking lot.
The responding officers identified the SUV as a black Jeep Renegade from the license plate the mother obtained. Officers began checking the area and one Garland officer observed the SUV driving on Northwest Highway near LBJ Freeway. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and observed that it was occupied by a woman driver, an 11-year-old juvenile, and the kidnapped infant.
The infant was unharmed and safely returned to his mother.
The driver was identified as 34-year-old Lashonda Price, resident of Seagoville. She was also identified as one of the women who kidnapped the infant. She was arrested for kidnapping and transported to the Dallas County Jail, Oct. 19. Bond was set at $20,000.
Detectives identified one of the other women as 28-year-old Romeisha Brown but have not identified the third. An arrest warrant for kidnapping has been obtained for Brown. The third suspect is described as a white female.
Investigators believe this to be an isolated-targeted incident where the involved suspects knew the victim. This is still an active investigation.
Detectives are asking if anyone has information on the whereabouts of Brown, and the identity of the third woman, to call the Garland Police Department at 972-485-4840 or 911. Callers may remain anonymous by calling Garland Crime Stoppers at 972-272-8477 or online at www.garlandcrimestoppers.org.
