Gunfire at Armstrong Park in Garland sent two people to the hospital Monday, Jan. 10. According to Officer Matt Pesta, Community Relations/Public Information contact at the Garland Police Department, several people met at the park at about 1:45 p.m. for a reason as yet unknown by the GPD.
The individuals began fighting and gunfire erupted. Two individuals were struck and went to a nearby hospital where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
According to Pesta, the ages of everyone involved are unknown, but police know that the victims were high school age.
No arrests have been made and there is an open investigation.
