Update: Curbside meal pickup locations

May. 5, 2020

Meal service will continue with the current schedule through May 22. There will be no food service during the week of May 25-28. Information about the summer meal schedule and locations for June 1-26 will be coming soon.

We are happy to be able to support families during this time by providing meals for students.

Meal pick-up process – Curbside meal sites (see list below) will be open to provide meals for our students to pick up.  One free meal will be provided for each child who is present and either at or under 18 years of age. These meals will be delivered to your vehicle by trained staff during the times listed below.

We will not turn away those who arrive via walking or biking. However, we ask that everyone remain six feet away from food and others at all times.

May 4-22 – Beginning the week of April 13, meal pickup will be three days a week. GISD’s Student Nutrition Services will send home information on how to store and reheat food. The schedule will be as follows:

    • Hot Lunch for Monday
    • Cold Lunch for Tuesday
    • Two Breakfasts

What if I can’t bring my child – If it’s not possible to bring your child at the meal pickup time, we ask that you present one of the following forms of ID for the child.

  • A student report card for each child not present (does not have to be a GISD report card)
  • A student ID card (does not have to be an ID from GISD)
  • A birth certificate (Children under the age of 5 who are not enrolled in a school district may use a birth certificate to request a meal.)

Please display the identification document on the passenger side window or on the dashboard so that our staff can easily see it. Parents can pick up meals for their children only.
