Voters decide: GISD board, city council, bond package

The bond package propositions, Garland ISD Board of Trustees and Garland City Council elections were decided by voters Saturday, May 4.

 

Garland ISD Board of Trustees

 

Place 3 – Linda Griffin 58% – Bob Duckworth 42%

 

Place 2 – Johnny Beach – ran unopposed

 

Place 1 – Larry Glick – ran unopposed

 

Garland City Council

 

Mayor – Scott LeMay – ran unopposed

 

District 3 – Jerry Nickerson 54% – Stephen Stanley 46%

 

District 6 – Robert Vera 64% – Patrick Abell 36%

 

District 7 – Dylan Hedrick – ran unopposed

 

District 8 – Robert J. Smith – ran unopposed

 

Voters also decided a bond package consisting of nine propositions. All passed by the following margins.

 

Proposition A-1 – Bunker Hill Park Sale – Yes 73% – No 27%

 

Proposition A – Street improvements – Yes 76% – No 24%

 

Proposition B – Public safety facilities – Yes 65% – No 35%

 

Proposition C – Storm Drainage – Yes 71% – No 29%

 

Proposition D – Parks and Recreation – Yes 60% – 40%

 

Proposition E – Libraries – Yes 62% – No 38%

 

Proposition F – Economic development – Yes 56% – No 44%

 

Proposition G – Municipal facilities – Yes 55% – No 45%

 

Proposition H – Animal shelter – Yes 63% – No 37%
