The Naaman Forest High School Rangers had a Thursday, Sept. 12 game and the rest of the Garland ISD high schools played Friday, Sept. 13.

 

South Garland HS gets win over Molina HS

 

The South Garland Colonels (1-2) got a 34-12 win over Molina HS. Brandon Wyatt started the scoring for the Colonels late in the first quarter when he took the ball in on a 19-yard run. He scored again in the third on a 6-yard run.

 

Quarterback Jalil Brown had a big night as he was 6-11 for 106 yards and rushed for 129 yards and a TD. Malik Price caught one of the Brown passes in the second for a TD and Ty Kee caught a 30-yard Brown throw for a TD in the fourth quarter.

 

Garland Owls defeat Richardson HS

 

The Garland Owls (2-1) got a 31-24 win over Richardson HS. Jayshon Powers scored in the first quarter for the Owls on a 7-yard run. In the second, James Cassidy added a 27-yard field goal and Jordan Hudson caught a 43-yard pass from Cergio Perez for a score. Perez also connected for scores with Charles Allen in the third on a 72-yard pass and Jaytric Geter on a 23-yard pass.

 

 

Perez ended the game at 23-38 for and impressive 338 yards. Charles Allen caught three Perez passes for 140 yards. Hudson caught 11 for 118 yards. Powers rushed for 132 yards.

 

NGHS gets big win over Carrollton Newman Smith HS

 

The North Garland Raiders (3-0) got a 47-12 win over Carrollton Newman Smith HS. NGHS had a huge night as they collected 504 offensive yards, 320 in the air and 184 on the ground. Quarterback Timothy Gauthier completed 17 passes for 312 yards. Duke Parker caught eight passes for 199 yards. The Raiders’

defense forced three Carrollton Newman Smith fumbles.

 

Sabron Woods scored in the first for the Raiders on a 14-yard run and Gauthier also took the ball in from four yards in the first. Trey Taylor scored twice in the second quarter, first on a 30-yard pass reception from Gauthier then on a 29-yard rush. Parker also got a TD in the second on a 70-yard Gauthier pass. Parker scored again in the third on an 11-yard pass from Gauthier. Ricky Taylor scored in the fourth quarter on a 15-yard run.

 

Patriots defeat Richardson Berkner HS

 

Lakeview Centennial HS (1-2) defeated Richardson Berkner HS by a score of 7-0. The Patriots’ TD came on a 12-yard run by Garnett Burke. LCHS collected 253 total yards, 60 in the air and 193 on the ground. Zechariah Dunston carried the ball 20 times for 97 yards.

 

 

Mustangs get 36-14 win over Plano East HS

 

Sachse HS (2-1) defeated Plano East HS 36-14. Scotty Jesmer scored on a 10-yard pass reception from Xavier Forman and Jay Fair caught a 16-yard Forman pass for a TD in the second. Forman threw a third TD pass, a 7-yarder, to Tristan Turner in the fourth quarter. Forman also scored on an 11-yard run.

 

The Mustang defense added a score when they recovered a fumble in the end zone in the second quarter and SHS also got two points on a safety in the second.

 

NFHS loses to Northwest Eaton HS

 

The Naaman Forest Rangers (0-3) were defeated by Northwest Eaton HS by a score of 31-0. The Rangers’ defense was unable to stop the Northwest Eaton offense who put together 393 yards, 205 in the air and 188 on the ground.

 

Rowlett HS loses to Plano HS

 

The Rowlett Eagles (0-3) were defeated by Plano HS by a score of 55-34. Charjay Hunt scored first for RHS on a 1-yard run in the first quarter. RHS scored twice in the third quarter. The first was on a 2-yard run by quarterback Alex Routt and the second came on a 69-yard pass reception by Antonio Hull. In the fourth, Routt connected with D’Wonyae Newton on a 3-yard pass and Tre’von King on a 22-yard throw.

 

The Eagles had 455 total yards, 201 in the air and 254 in the air. Routt was 17-34 for 201 yards on the night and rushed for 120 yards. Hull caught six passes for 134 yards.
