Week seven of the high school football season ended with wins for Wylie East HS, Naaman Forest HS, Wylie HS and North Garland HS.
Wylie East HS remains undefeated
The South Garland Titans (1-6, 0-5) were defeated by the undefeated Wylie East Raiders (6-0, 4-0) by a score of 41-7 Friday, Oct. 7 at Garland ISD’s Homer B. Johnson Stadium. The Titans’ only score came on a pass from QB Mirko Martos to Jonas Brown in the fourth quarter. Martos ended the game at 7-22 with 84 yards.
Naaman Forest Rangers get win over Garland Owls
The NFHS Rangers (3-3, 3-1) defeated the Garland Owls Thursday, Oct. 6 at Williams Stadium. The final score was 17-0. The Rangers’ quarterback Deangelo Perales ended the night at 16-21 for 196 yards and one TD. Ivan Garcia caught the touchdown pass. Isaiah Cunning carried the ball 31 times for 157 yards and a touchdown for NFHS. The Rangers’ David Jilote also added a 32-yard field goal in the third quarter.
Wylie HS gets victory over Rowlett Eagles
The Wylie Pirates (4-2, 3-1) got a 30-10 win over the Rowlett Eagles (1-6, 1-4) Friday, Oct. 7 at Wylie ISD Stadium. The Eagles scored on a pass from quarterback Harris Boyd to Corey Kirkling. Boyd completed 16 of 36 pass attempts for 217 yards. Kirkling had six catches for 83 yards. James Okolo caught four for 88 yards. GerMyius Benson carried the ball 15 times for 77 yards for RHS.
North Garland HS defeats Lakeview Centennial HS
The North Garland Raiders got a 35-31 win over the Lakeview Centennial Patriots Friday, Oct. 7 at Garland ISD’s Williams Stadium. NGHS quarterback Godspower Nwawulhe was 5-12 on the night with 124 passing yards. He also carried the ball 24 times for 158 yards and four touchdowns. Jaden Davis, who had 25 carries for 123 yards, also scored a TD.
LCHS quarterback Jonathan Hester ended the night at 11-22 for 177 yards and one touchdown. Savion Hunter, Jack Dustin and Hester scored rushing TDs as well. The Patriots added a 32-yard field goal.
