Week 9: High school football recap

Week nine of the high school football season is in the books. The scores and District 9-6A standings are below.

Lakeview Centennial Patriots 35 – Rowlett Eagles 13

The Lakeview Centennial Patriots (4-5, 4-3) got a win over the Rowlett Eagles (4-4, 2-4) Thursday, Oct. 19. The Patriots’ quarterback Kendrick Sanders completed 17-22 for 245 yards and three TDs. Sanders also rushed for a score. Trenton Harris caught two of the TD passes. He had seven catches on the game for 172 yards. Julius Spencer also caught a touchdown pass. Kenyon White also scored for the Patriots on an 83-yard kickoff return.

Eagles’ QB Andrew Ellison completed 15-20 for 156 yards and a TD. QB River Kirkhuff also had a touchdown pass. Jalen Thomas caught both TD passes. Ger’Myus Benson rushed for 101 yards.

Sachse Mustangs 49 – South Garland Titans 14

The Sachse Mustangs (6-2, 6-0) remained undefeated in district play with a win over the South Garland Titans (2-7, 0-7) Friday, Oct. 20, at Homer B. Johnson Stadium. Quarterback Brenden George completed 18 passes for 359 yards and four touchdowns and also scored a rushing TD. Keandrae Little and Brendon Haygood also scored rushing touchdowns.

The Titans’ QB Ramon Franco carried the ball 21 times for 170 yards and two touchdowns. He also completed four passes for 39 yards.

Wylie Pirates 21 – Naaman Forest Rangers 14

The Wylie Pirates (6-2, 5-1) defeated the Naaman Forest Rangers (1-7, 1-5) by a score of 21-14 at Williams Stadium Friday, Oct. 20.

QB Deangelo Perales was 12-24 for 158 yards and two touchdowns. Perales also carried the ball 14 times for 101 yards. Chance Ables had four catches for 127 yards and caught both TD throws.

Wylie East Raiders 49 – North Garland Raiders 

The Wylie East Raiders (7-1, 5-1) defeated the North Garland Raiders (2-6, 2-4)   by a score of 49-0 Friday, Oct. 20, at Wylie ISD Stadium.
